About Sarah Rothenberg
Sarah Rothenberg, M.ED has been working in the education space for over a decade, pioneering innovation and operations for ed-tech companies, schools and start-ups in Silicon Valley and New York. Sarah was the Founding Educator and one of the first 10 team members of AltSchool, a $173M company backed by Silicon Valley investors such as First Round Capital, Founders Fund, Andreessen Horowitz and Mark Zuckerberg. Sarah opened the first AltSchool classroom in 2013 and helped launch nine other campuses across San Francisco, and Palo Alto including an expansion in 2015 to Brooklyn and Manhattan. Most recently Sarah served on the leadership team as Director of Shared Services for Higher Ground Education, a growing global network of 50+ Montessori schools. Sarah is Founder and CEO of Child’s Pose Wellness and is Principal Consultant of Rothenberg Consulting Group LLC.
Sarah is deeply passionate about children's health and wellness. She founded Child's Pose Wellness to support social-emotional learning in home and school with yoga, movement and mindfulness.
After earning her Master’s Degree from the Furcolo School of Education at the University of Massachusetts, Sarah moved to Boston to help launch the full-day Kindergarten program in Milton, Massachusetts. As lead teacher, curriculum developer and technology specialist for the district, Sarah facilitated conferences and workshops for colleagues on current topics in education. As the Director of Internal Drive Technology Camp and Academy at MIT in Cambridge, Sarah explored ways to utilize technology as an integral classroom tool in an innovative and interactive learning community. Sarah has completed the School Leaders Program at the Harvard Graduate School Education, The Exceptional Leader at Stanford University and participated in the Reggio-Emilia International Study Group in Reggio Emilia, Italy. Sarah also holds her Children’s Yoga Teacher Certification (YTC) through YogaEd and Yoga Alliance.
As a leading expert in innovation and education design, Sarah combines her 13+ years in the classroom, with her passion for helping companies drive success in fast-paced, mission-driven environments. Using design thinking strategies, such as empathy mapping and journey mapping, Sarah helps companies build and implement successful systems and processes. Sarah’s expertise is helping organizations run efficient and effective programs, and that students, parents, programmers, engineers, designers, developers and educators are equal partners on the journey.
Sarah is dedicated to working with organizations to create a culture and a product which is built on a foundation of co-development, cross-collaboration, community partnerships, user engagement and wellness. As a lifelong learner and committed educator, Sarah is passionate about fostering a child-centered, creative learning environment that embraces innovation and social-emotional growth as the cornerstone to prepare our children to be the leaders of their tomorrow.
Sarah received a BS and M.Ed from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
